Hi! I’m David Ross,
A PhD Student, Student Development Dean, Adjunct Professor and long-time participant in the Christian Charismatic Movement
I grew up in Scotland and embarked on my 18th birthday upon what was supposed to be a gap year to Canada. God had other plans. I attended Catch The Fire's School of Ministry program in Toronto during which God turned my life upside down and put me on a totally different trajectory. I then served for over seven years in various charismatic churches as a youth pastor and began formal academic theological training. I also worked for several years with people experiencing homelessness and poverty in front line para-church roles. I have a Bachelor of Theology from Alberta Bible College and an MA in Theological Studies from Wycliffe College/the University of Toronto. I am now doing a PhD in New Testament at Wycliffe College at the University of Toronto. My dissertation will be focused on John Calvin's exegesis of Paul. I have been an adjunct professor at Alberta Bible College in Calgary since 2020, and in 2025 took up a part-time position at the College as the Student Development Dean. I am on the leadership and preaching teams at Epic Vineyard Church in Calgary, and also serve on the Theological Advisory Committee for Vineyard Canada.

Above all, I love God, my beautiful wife Claire and Angus (our 4 year old black lab). I also enjoy exercising, reading and watching football (both real football and American). I love exploring the city of Calgary, which is traditionally known as Moh’kins’tsis to the Blackfoot, Wîchîspa to the Stoney Nakoda, and Guts’ists’i to the Tsuut’ina. I am grateful to have the opporunity to live, work and enjoy nature in Treaty 7 Territory.

Welcome to my blog! Thanks for being here.
